2/10/04 (32w5d): Went to see the midwife again today (this time it was Sara). Wt: +2 (26 total), BP: 120/70, urine normal, fundal height: 35cm and Bean’s heartbeat=143bpm. Everything looks great. Asked her about how the baby’s movements might change as s/he loses space in there. She explained that I will feel much more “rolling” than kicks and punches – makes sense. Should be tested for Group Beta Strep at the next visit (normal bacteria that requires administration of antibiotics at delivery), which is Feb 26th. After that, it’ll be weekly visits.

2/12/04 (33w0d): Bean’s bum is in my ribs! It doesn’t hurt so much as it’s uncomfortable when sitting upright and driving (rather than reclining). Here’s my 33wk belly pic!. See all the boxes in the back? We’re getting ready to move. One more week and we’ll be in the new house. Can’t believe it. It’s one of the things we’ve looked forward to all our lives and now it’s happening along with another GREAT event – having this baby!!!

2/20/04 (34w1d): My coworkers gave Michele & me a surprise baby shower yesterday. Everyone was so generous that we each ended up with a $100 gift card to Toys R Us plus a bag with baby gowns, bibs, a teether and toys – not to mention some pj’s for Mom! Here are some pictures from the event. It was great and so much fun to read all of the well wishes inside (and all over) the card. We’re closing on the house this morning. Yikes!

2/27/04 (35w1d): Had an appointment yesterday. It’s a good thing too because I noticed that my ankles were all swollen. No worries though – all entirely normal for this point in the pregnancy. Here are the stats: weight: +7 for a total of 33lbs. (probably some fluid weight there), urine normal, fundal height 36cm, BP 117/20, and Bean’s heartbeat 145bpm. The midwife suggested I start taking evening primrose oil (softens the cervix) and read raspberry leaf tea (tones the uterus). Neither will put me into labor but should help once I’m there. Doing ok for the most part; heartburn is always an issue. I’m glad we’re all moved into the house. We plan on painting Bean’s room this weekend. Just want to get that done before s/he comes.
